The Vermont Housing Improvement Program (VHIP) is open for applications!

VHIP 2.0 provides 0% interest loans up to $50,000.00 per unit to property owners to create affordable rental apartments. Eligible projects include the rehabilitation of Unoccupied Units, Tenant Occupied Units facing code violations, New Unit Constructions, and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). This program is designed to further increase the supply of safe and affordable housing across Central Vermont. Downstreet administers VHIP for Lamoille, Washington, and Orange Counties.

Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead our residential builds—coordinating volunteers, YouthBuild teams, and contractors to create safe, affordable homes.

Full-time | $70K–$78K

This role is primarily focused on project management, coordination, and leadership, rather than hands-on construction. While strong carpentry knowledge and residential construction experience are essential for guiding volunteers and ensuring quality workmanship, the CPM’s primary responsibility is to keep the project organized, safe, on schedule, and aligned with Habitat for Humanity building standards.

This is what progress looks like 💪 YouthBuild has been hard at work in Barre and floors are officially going in!

YouthBuild is a national program for 16-24 year old youth, providing an opportunity to earn trade certifications and an AmeriCorps Education Award, while learning construction skills.

Always grateful to partner with these young people in Vermont!
