When notarizing a POA, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
1. Get 2 Witnesses. 👯♀️
In Florida, POA signing must be signed in the presence of 2 Witnesses who are “disinterested” in the transaction.
2. Schedule signing and review requirements with client. 🗓️
This means informing them of ID requirements and Witness requirements. This is also a good time to discuss fee and payment.
3. Review the POA and confirm it is complete. 📝Especially the names and contact details of the principal and agent, the effective date, and the scope of authority.
4. Verify Identification🥸
Both the principal his/her agent must provide valid government-issued IDs to verify their identities.
5. Sign time!
The principal and agent must sign the POA in the your presence.
6. Record act and Notary Stamp! 💟
