Mike took a break from being a lawyer for a day to… be a DJ in New York City recently!!! 🎧🗽🎸

He’s the featured guest DJ on Deep Tracks, a station dedicated to album-based music and the songs that never made the Top 40. Or as Mike calls them: the gems.

You have to really know classic rock for this one, and the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s are 100% Mike’s territory. He hand-picked every song from his favorite bands of that era, told the stories behind them, and even snuck in a few shout-outs to friends and family (listen closely 👀).

Music runs in the family, too. His dad played and was the lead singer in a band known as Bad Apple.

Stop and go evacuation traffic can turn into a chain reaction crash in seconds. 🚗 Standing water, poor visibility, sudden lane changes, and disabled vehicles can make already crowded roads more dangerous.

A hurricane does not automatically excuse careless driving. Drivers still need to use reasonable care for the conditions, including reducing speed, leaving more following distance, and responding safely to changing traffic controls. ⚠️ Florida’s comparative fault rules may also affect recovery when more than one driver shares responsibility.

After a crash in Tampa, safety comes first. When conditions allow, photograph vehicle positions, damage, standing water, lane markings, signs, and visibility. Save dash camera footage, gather witness contact information, and keep towing, lodging, rental, and evacuation records. 📸

Medical timing matters too. Florida PIP generally requires initial services and care within 14 days after a motor vehicle accident for medical benefits to apply. Crash evidence can disappear much sooner, especially when witnesses, rental vehicles, or damaged cars leave the area. Serrano Law can review which records and insurance issues may matter. ⚖️

Camera footage can disappear while your Florida car accident claim is still taking shape. 📹 Businesses may overwrite recordings, vehicles may be repaired or sent to salvage, and summer road conditions can change within hours.

After a crash in Tampa, photograph every vehicle, final resting positions, skid marks, debris, traffic controls, visible injuries, and weather conditions when it is safe to do so. Save original dash camera files and make a backup rather than editing your only copy. 📸

Witnesses can disappear just as quickly. A summer visitor may leave Florida the next day, so collect their name, phone number, email address, and a brief note about where they observed the collision. Crash reports may also take up to 10 days to become available through the Florida Crash Portal. 📝

Medical documentation matters too. Florida PIP rules generally require initial medical services and care within 14 days after the accident for medical benefits to apply. Keep medical records, bills, wage documentation, repair records, receipts, and insurance correspondence together. Serrano Law can help evaluate what evidence may need preservation. ⚖️

Fourteen days can matter after a Florida car crash. ⏱️ Initial medical care generally must be received within that window for PIP medical benefits to apply, even when the collision happens during a hectic back to school commute.

School traffic adds sudden stops, active crosswalks, buses, bicyclists, and unfamiliar pickup patterns. 📵 A driver checking a school notification, changing navigation, reaching for a backpack, or turning toward a passenger can miss critical changes ahead.

Evidence can disappear quickly after a distracted driving crash. Camera footage may be overwritten, witnesses can become harder to locate, and vehicles may be repaired. 📸 Photos, dash camera footage, witness information, phone records obtained lawfully, and nearby surveillance video may help show what happened.

Florida also applies modified comparative fault rules in many negligence claims. Damages may be reduced based on fault, and someone found more than 50 percent responsible for their own harm may be barred from recovery under that rule. Serrano Law helps injured people in Lutz review evidence, insurance coverage, and next steps. ⚖️

Parking lot surveillance footage can disappear within days or weeks. 📹 After a crash at a Tampa shopping center, preserving what happened may be just as important as documenting the vehicle damage.

Take wide and close photos before the scene changes. Capture vehicle positions, damage, stop signs, pavement markings, blocked sightlines, lighting, nearby cameras, and unsafe property conditions. 📸 Get witness contact information too, because shoppers and employees may leave quickly.

Report the crash to shopping center management and ask that an incident report be created. If cameras may have recorded the collision, request that the relevant footage be preserved. Serrano Law helps injured people evaluate evidence and the parties that may be involved.

Medical timing also matters. 🩺 Florida PIP coverage generally requires initial medical services and care within 14 days after a motor vehicle accident. Depending on medical findings and other requirements, covered benefits may reach $10,000, while reimbursement may generally be limited to $2,500 without an emergency medical condition.

Avoid guessing about speed or fault when speaking with insurers. ⚖️ Save photos, reports, medical records, repair estimates, receipts, and communications while the evidence is still available.

A driver can be under the posted speed limit and still be going too fast for a Florida downpour. 🌧️ Rain changes visibility and traction, but it does not erase the responsibility to drive reasonably for the conditions.

After a rain related crash in Tampa, investigators may look closely at speed, following distance, headlight use, lane changes, standing water, and even tire condition. 🚗 Hydroplaning alone does not necessarily mean a collision was unavoidable.

Florida’s modified comparative fault rules can also affect recovery. If more than one driver contributed to the crash, responsibility may be divided. In an ordinary negligence action, someone found more than 50 percent responsible for their own harm generally may not recover damages. ⚖️

Evidence can disappear quickly once the storm passes. Photos of standing water, vehicle positions, tires, lights, and road conditions can matter, along with video, witness information, weather records, and vehicle data. 📸 Serrano Law helps injured people evaluate how these details may affect a car accident claim.

825 people were killed in teen driver involved crashes during the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer in 2024. August is still part of that high risk period. 🚗

Back to school traffic can make familiar roads harder to read. Sudden backups, school buses, pedestrians, parking lot traffic, and rushed lane changes can challenge a newer driver, especially when fatigue, passengers, or phones divide their attention. 📵

Florida also limits driving hours for younger drivers. A 16 year old generally may drive without a licensed adult from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. A 17 year old generally may drive from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., with certain work related exceptions. ⏰

After a crash, preserve photos, witness information, dash camera footage, medical records, and the crash report. Florida PIP benefits can depend on receiving initial medical services and care within 14 days. Avoid unnecessary admissions and posting crash details on social media. 📋

Serrano Law helps injured families understand insurance and legal questions after crashes in Tampa and surrounding communities. Our team can review the circumstances and explain options that may apply.

August can raise teen driver accident risks in Florida because late-summer travel overlaps with the return of school, sports, work, and family schedules.

A school zone crash can leave a child hurt while crucial video footage is already at risk of being overwritten. 📹 Acting quickly can protect evidence that may matter later.

Florida PIP rules generally require initial medical care within 14 days of the crash. Depending on the circumstances, covered medical reimbursement may reach $10,000 with an emergency medical condition determination, or may be limited to $2,500 without one. 🏥

Preserve what you can safely document: vehicle positions, crosswalks, flashing school zone signals, bus stop arms, skid marks, debris, and nearby cameras. Keep witness information, medical records, bills, school absence records, and damaged items such as helmets or child safety seats. 📸

Avoid posting detailed crash statements, photos, or medical updates on social media. Insurers may review public posts. Serrano Law helps injured families in Lutz understand the insurance and evidence issues that can follow these collisions. ⚖️

A blocked drain beside a splash area can change everything after a fall. 💧

A wet pool deck alone usually is not enough to prove negligence. What matters is whether an unsafe condition should have been discovered, corrected, or clearly warned about. Problems like poor drainage, damaged flooring, loose mats, broken handrails, recurring leaks, or inadequate inspections can make all the difference. Serrano Law helps injured people throughout Tampa understand what evidence may support a claim.

📸 Evidence can disappear fast. Water gets cleaned up, warning signs get moved, and surveillance footage may be deleted under routine retention policies. If you are able, photograph the area from multiple angles, report the incident, request a copy of the incident report, and collect witness contact information before leaving.

Florida also has different filing deadlines depending on when the claim accrued, and waiting can make it harder to preserve the proof needed to evaluate what happened. Even a warning sign does not automatically prevent a claim if it was unclear, blocked, or placed too far from the hazard. ⚖️
