We are excited to announce that our 2021 Amnesty Week will be August 23rd through August 27th. During the week-long period all collection fees and interest will be waived on oustsanding balances owed on criminal and traffic matters in Lake County. We will be providing more details in the coming week. **Some organizations and agencies have been reporting incorrect dates for this year's Amnesty Week based on dates from our 2019 campaign. Please disregard this information. The 2021 Amnesty Week is August 23rd through August 27th

Lake County Circuit Court Clerk Erin Cartwright Weinstein along with the Lake County State's Attorney's Office of Michael G. Nerheim, are pleased to announce that this year's Lake County Amnesty Week will be Monday, September 28, 2020 through Friday, October 2, 2020. During the week-long period, all collection fees and accrued interest will be waived on any past due fines owed on criminal and traffic matters in Lake County. This year online, phone and mail payments will be accepted during Amnesty Week to offer individuals a safe way to submit their payments without having to come into our office. **Lake County Jail Now Accepting Credit/Debit Cards for Bond**

Effective immediately, the Lake County Jail will accept credit/debit cards for the posting of inmate bonds. Inmates and those posting bond for an inmate can now do so with the following debit/credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover.

If wishing to post bond for an inmate, visitors should come to 29 South Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Waukegan. A member of the jail will verify the inmate’s eligibility and bond payments must be made on-site.

Due to the peaceful demonstration scheduled in the area for this afternoon, the 19th Judicial Circuit Court and the Circuit Clerk's Office will be closing today at 12:00 pm. We will resume normal business hours Monday, June 8, 2020.

**Memorial Day Traffic Safety Campaign**

Beginning today and running through Memorial Day, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a statewide traffic safety campaign, focusing on those driving under the influence, excessive speed, distracted driving, and seat belt compliance.

“While traffic on the roadways has been lighter amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to see serious crashes, excessive speeds, and individuals making the unwise choice to drive under the influence,” said Sheriff John Idleburg. “We will have extra deputies out during this time to ensure those utilizing our roadways can do so safely.”

The traffic safety campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds.

All matters for Lake County have been cancelled through May 29, 2020. The clerk's office will be sending out new dates for your cases. Branch court cases will be cancelled through July 6, 2020. The clerk's office will also send notice for the new date on these cases. In addition, if you have been ordered to complete traffic school, community service, public service and reinstatement of driver's license, the status of those matters have been continued until November 9, 2020. I know that the courts are busy trying in enact certain virtual techniques so that some hearings and court calls can start up again remotely. To protect the safety of the general public, court staff, judges and judicial partners the 19th Judicial Circuit has released Amended COVID-19 Emergency Measures extending all previously entered Administrative Orders. All matters scheduled through May 29, 2020, will be continued and rescheduled to a date after May 29, 2020. The Circuit Clerk's Office will generate and send out notice of the new court dates. If you do not receive notice you may look up the information on our Public Access Site at https://circuitclerk.lakecountyil.gov/publicAccess/html/common/index.xhtml or contact us at 847-377-3380. In addition, the Circuit Clerk's Office Mundelein, Park City, and Round Lake Branch locations will remain closed until July 6, 2020. The Circuit Clerk's Office will continue to operate out of the Waukegan and Vernon Hills locations.
