Crime Scene Investigation Training – Lexington, MA

We are just a few weeks away from our upcoming 5-Day Crime Scene Investigation & Forensic Photography Training taking place at the Lexington Police Department (March 30 – April 3).

This is a hands-on program, not just lecture-based training.

Cameras are used throughout the week while participants work through realistic scenes involving property crimes, violent crimes, and sexual assault investigations.

Training with hands-on work with:

*Crime scene documentation and forensic photography

*DNA evidence collection and buccal swab certification

*Presumptive blood testing and biological evidence detection

*Alternate light source techniques with a focus on sexual assault evidence

*Crime scene management and evidence submission guidelines

Departments that have trained with us previously are eligible for a returning agency discount.

If you or members of your department are interested, feel free to reach out directly for more information.

Last evening I had the opportunity to provide brief commentary for NBC10 Boston regarding recent developments in the Guthrie case and DNA evidence recovered from a glove located during a recent search.

Situations like this are an important reminder of how critical proper evidence recognition, collection, documentation, and preservation are from the moment evidence is located. The way evidence is handled at the scene can have a lasting impact on an investigation — even years later.

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to discuss the forensic side of these cases and the importance of sound crime scene practices.

Savannah Guthrie shared a new video on Instagram Sunday night pleading for the person who took her mother to come forward.

I really want to give a strong recommendation for the Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association (PHIA) conference.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak there, and to now be part of the organization, and it’s one of the most solid, real-world training events out there for investigators and death investigators.

This year’s conference includes a great program on staged and equivocal deaths — one of the most challenging areas we deal with in this profession. Andrea and Wendy are excellent instructors and looking forward to the other speakers as well!

It’s also an outstanding opportunity for networking, with investigators from multiple state agencies and jurisdictions attending each year.

If you’re in law enforcement, investigations, or any role involving death investigation, this is training that will make a difference.

Highly recommended.

🚨Training Announcement–Sirchie 5-Day Class @ Livingston, NJ

Very happy to announce that I will be instructing a 5-Day CSI & Forensic Investigation with Digital Photography Course in New Jersey on April, 20, 2026.

On a personal note, I’ve had the privilege of teaching throughout New Jersey, New York, and New England for many years and have met some of the best law enforcement professionals in the country during these classes.

The Livingston Police Department has always been an outstanding host agency, and the training environment there consistently produces strong, interactive classes.

For my colleagues throughout Massachusetts and New England — Livingston is a very manageable trip and always a worthwhile training opportunity. I would truly enjoy seeing familiar faces there.

This program is presented by Sirchie, in cooperation with the Livingston Police Department. Sirchie continues to be a national leader in forensic science training, and I’m proud to work alongside their instructional team delivering comprehensive, hands-on CSI education across the country.
