USCIS recently issued a new policy memorandum affecting Adjustment of Status (green card) applications filed within the United States. While many questions remain unanswered, Adjustment of Status has not been eliminated and USCIS continues to process these cases.

Attached is a brief summary of what we know so far and what applicants should be aware of moving forward. We will continue monitoring developments and provide updates as additional guidance becomes available.

USCIS recently issued a new policy memorandum regarding Adjustment of Status (“green card”) applications filed inside the United States.

At this point, there are still many unanswered questions about how aggressively this guidance will actually be applied in practice. However, the memo appears to signal increased scrutiny in certain immigration cases, particularly where there are prior status violations, unauthorized employment, immigrant intent concerns, or other discretionary issues.

Importantly, Adjustment of Status has NOT been eliminated, and many applicants may still have viable paths forward.

I’ve attached a brief overview summarizing the current situation and some practical considerations moving forward. As always, every case is different. If you have questions about how this policy may affect your specific matter, please feel free to contact our office directly.

🚨 NEW IMMIGRATION FEES IN EFFECT 🚨
President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” on July 4, 2025. It adds major new fees for many immigration applications — including asylum, work permits, TPS, and more. Some fees took effect immediately, others will follow soon.

💰 Many cannot be waived and will rise each year.
