Congratulations Mitch!

Last week, we came together for the Watertown Area United Way Annual Meeting—a time to look ahead and reaffirm our commitment to guiding our organization in service of our partner agencies and the greater community.

Our Board of Directors plays a vital role in this work. They volunteer their time, share their expertise, and help set the direction that allows United Way to be a strong, steady partner to the agencies and programs serving our neighbors every day.

We’re grateful to welcome Mitchell Koehn of Austin Law Office as our 2026 Board President and Joey Patek of Montgomery's as Vice President. Their leadership will help ensure we continue to listen, collaborate, and respond to the evolving needs of our community.

Meet Amanda 📖

Amanda received her undergraduate degree from Augustana and attended USD for law school. Her favorite part of her job is meeting with and helping people through the difficult times they may face. She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and reading. Her favorite memories are all of the adoptions she’s participated in — they have a special place in her heart.

Meet Kate 💃🏼

Kate loves helping people who need someone to stick up for them. Her heart is full when she fights a battle for someone that truly needs an advocate; being an attorney is all she ever wanted to be. Kate graduated high school here in Watertown, undergrad at the University of Southern Indiana, and law school at the University of South Dakota.

Kate likes to dance, soak up the summer sun, listen to music, and travel with her husband and 3 daughters.

Mitch received both his law degree and Business Administration degree from USD. He likes meeting new people and developing long term professional and friendly relationships. He enjoys winning jury trials, golfing, and hunting. Fun fact, the only person louder than Mitch is his mother.
