Meet Attorney John J. Palmeri! ⚖️

John brings a unique combination of legal, accounting and tax experience to Secor Cassidy. A Certified Public Accountant and former Senior Tax Manager with Ernst & Young, his practice focuses on estate planning, tax planning, estate administration, commercial transaction planning and tax consulting.

John earned his B.S. in Accounting, cm laude, from Brooklyn College, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his LL.M. in Taxation from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Throughout his career, John has remained actively involved in the legal and accounting professions, including leadership roles with the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and involvement with the Connecticut Bar Association’s Tax Section.

With a background spanning both law and accounting, John brings extensive knowledge and experience to helping clients navigate complex tax, estate and business matters.

Meet Attorney James R. Strub! ⚖️

Based in Secor Cassidy’s Waterbury office, Jim represents businesses, business owners and developers in a variety of matters, including commercial transactions, real estate financing, land use and municipal law.

Jim earned his A.B. from Brown University and went on to receive his J.D., cm laude, from Western New England University School of Law.

Beyond his legal practice, Jim remains actively involved in the community through organizations including the Mattatuck Museum, Waterbury Regional Chamber and Carl Siemon Family Charitable Trust.

With a strong background in business, real estate and community leadership, Jim brings decades of knowledge and experience to the clients and communities he serves.

We are honored to be recognized as The Small Business of the Year by the Waterbury Regional Chamber at the 28th Annual Harold Webster Smith Awards.

The awards honor the legacy of Harold Webster Smith, who founded First Federal Savings of Waterbury—later Webster Bank—in 1935. A former member of the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s board of directors, Smith was a steadfast supporter of small-business development in the Greater Waterbury region.

We are also privileged to share this honor with Manufacturer of the Year, Hubbard Hall spearheaded by Molly Kellogg and Entrepreneur of the Year, Christy Greco, founder of the Local Gourmet. Thank you to Webster Bank as well for spearheading these awards.
