After forty-six years of serving our clients, Phillips, Phillips & Smith-Delach is closing effective December 31. Attorney Kathleen Smith-Delach has joined former PPSD attorney Laura Phillips at Phillips Froetschel, and they can both be reached at (412)546-5220. Phillips Froetschel maintains an office in Washington at the same location as PPSD, and we are available to meet with clients by appointment there.

We are profoundly saddened at the passing of co-founder William D. "Denny" Phillips, March 8, 1938-August 19, 2024.

Denny was an extremely well-respected trial lawyer, and many (many) colleagues have told us stories over the last week and a half of countless times when Denny mentored them, helped them, and generally showed them what a lawyer should be.

In addition to being a supremely skilled trial lawyer, Denny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who is deeply missed by his family.

William D. “Denny” Phillips, a lifelong Washington resident, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with recently diagnosed cancer.  Denny was born on March 8, 1938, to Anastasia McCartan Phillips and William John Phillips.&n
