The Guild of Catholic Lawyers at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, is an organization dedicated to the promotion of justice in the law and the protection and advancement of the intrinsic value and dignity of the human person. Catholic social and moral principles, based on the authentic and authoritative teachings of the Catholic Church as they relate to law and the legal profession, the Guild seeks to aid law students in discovering ways of applying these principles in the practice and development of law, as well as in the larger society. The Guild hosts a number of events for the law school community each year, including the Law School Community Memorial Mass and the Book of Remembrance; Ash Wednesday Mass; the Annual Model Seder, cosponsored with the Jewish Law Students Association; and the Mirror of Justice Scholars Lecture series. The Guild cherishes its Catholic identity, but also seeks to be enriched by members of other rites and religious traditions and to foster a clear sense of personal identity with one's particular heritage while seeking common participated meanings and values.
