As an ambulance service, we see firsthand how critical blood supply is in emergencies. Trauma calls, medical emergencies, surgical crises — blood is a resource that cannot be manufactured or undervalued. Every blood donor is a hero to someone they may never meet.

Summer is fast approaching—and with it comes fun in the sun, but also dangerous heat.

Every year, our crews respond to heat-related emergencies, and many are preventable. Know the warning signs of heat illness early and take action before it becomes an emergency. When in doubt, call 911. We’d always rather respond to a precaution than an emergency.

Remember to stay cool, Massachusetts!

Hands-Only CPR is something almost anyone can do.

The American Heart Association recommends pushing at least 2 inches deep at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute — roughly the beat of the chorus in "Stayin' Alive".

This week is National CPR & AED Awareness Week — and we think it's one of the most important weeks of the year 🫀

Here's a number worth knowing: Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere. When it does, every minute without CPR reduces the chance of survival by 7–10%. Bystander CPR can double or even triple survival rates. Visit American Heart Association to learn more about these statistics.

You don't have to be a medical professional to save a life. You just have to be willing to act.

Today, we join our friends and colleagues in the first responder community to honor Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr., as he is laid to rest.

He was a true hero who died in the line of duty fighting a fire in Dorchester on May 23. We are grateful for his service and saddened by his loss.💙
