Busy week; lots of announcements this week. This was a major, major victory for our client Sarah Ramey (aka Wolf Larsen). The case was filed SIXTEEN years after the procedure at issue, and the Court of Appeals just announced she is entitled to a new trial on whether the statute of limitations accrued more than three years before then and provided a wealth of plaintiff-favorable guidance that should significantly aid her on the retrial.

In a significant appellate victory for our client, Sarah Ramey, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ruled on April 24, 2025, that Ms. Ramey is entitled to a new trial in her medical malpractice lawsuit against Foxhall Urology and Dr. Edward Dunne.

Partner Matthew Peed has secured a landmark ruling from the D.C. Circuit in an important criminal case involving a decorated former State Department Foreign Service Officer.

In yet another victory for our client, a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed the dismissal of an indictment against C&P client Paul Guertin, a decorated former Foreign Service Officer.

A wonderful trial victory by our founding partner, Tim Clinton. After excusing the jury, the presiding federal judge praised Mr. Clinton (and his opposing counsel) for a case very well tried.

After a one-day jury trial in the Eastern District of Virginia before Judge Leonie Brinkema, Clinton & Peed has a secured a judgment worth up to $2.7 million for the estate of John (“Jack”) C. West, Jr., a South Carolina lawyer who represented the individuals taken and held hostage from the U.S.

Earlier this morning, Clinton & Peed's Susan Simpson was on hand to witness the release of Jeff Titus, the subject of the sixth season of her podcast Undisclosed. Titus is now the fifth wrongfully convicted person in whose release Susan's investigative/podcasting work played a role. We are so, so proud of Susan's work. And if you enjoy true-crime podcasts, you can't do better than Susan's latest venture, Proof Crime Podcast. Season 1 already resulted in the release of two wrongfully convicted men in Georgia, and Season 2 is expected to come out later this year.
