EGLF founder Libby Jamison spent the day in D.C. with the Hiring Our Heroes Veterans Employment Advisory Council, surrounded by the leaders and employers who are walking the walk when it comes to supporting veterans and military spouses in the workforce.

It’s inspiring to see so many organizations turning commitment into real action: expanding career pathways, building inclusive workplaces, and creating meaningful job opportunities for those who’ve served and their loved ones.

EGLF is proud to be part of the conversation and the collective effort to keep driving progress for this community.

EGLF founder Libby Jamison spoke with CNN about the on-going government shutdown and its impact on military-connected families.

An unreliable paycheck isn’t the only concern on the minds of those families right now. With a 20 percent unemployment rate among military spouses and one in five service members reporting food insecurity even prior to the shutdown, many military-connected families rely on different federal benefits to make ends meet - benefits like SNAP, WIC, tuition assistance, and others that are now in jeopardy.

The good news is that VA is still delivering disability benefits - contact us to see how we can help if you are navigating that process.

CNN’s Jessica Dean interviews Libby Jamison, who is married to a Navy helicopter pilot and advocates for military families, on how the government shutdown causes uncertainty among active-duty families.
