A group of 20 young people who were abducted in south-east Nigeria last week have been rescued, police say.

The graduates were kidnapped on 1 October while they were travelling for a national community service programme in the Abia and Akwa Ibom states in the south of the country.

BREAKING: Christian journalist Lawrence Zongo was arrested Monday by the Nigerian Army while visiting family members at a military hospital in Jos.

Zongo, a reporter with Truth Nigeria and volunteer with Amnesty Nigeria, had gone to the hospital at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment to assist his cousins after they were reportedly attacked by armed Fulani militants the night before in Meyango, Bassa LGA. Tragically, one of his cousins had died by the time he arrived.

While grieving the loss of his family member, Zongo was taken into military custody. Reports indicate that he remains detained without charges and has been denied access to his family and legal counsel.

Please pray for Lawrence Zongo—for his safety, for justice, and for his immediate release.

The world must continue paying attention to what is happening in Nigeria.
