As June comes to an end, we at Winterfeldt IP Group are proud to celebrate Pride Month, a time that holds deep personal significance for us as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride is not just about the vibrant parades and joyful celebrations; it is a poignant reminder of our collective journey toward acceptance, equality, and the right to live authentically. This month, we reflect on our shared values and reaffirm our commitment to building a world where everyone is embraced for who they truly are.

Pride Month’s origins lie in the courageous actions of those who stood up during the Stonewall Riots of 1969. These historic events marked a significant turning point in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and have since become a beacon of hope and resilience. For us at Winterfeldt IP Group, Pride is a celebration of our diverse community, an acknowledgment of the challenges we face, and a commitment to supporting and advocating for equality and justice.

At Winterfeldt IP Group, diversity and inclusion are not just aspirations but core values that define our community. We know firsthand the importance of creating a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to express their true selves. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment means that we celebrate the unique perspectives and experiences each person brings. Embracing our diversity not only enriches our lives but also enhances our ability to serve our clients and contribute to a more equitable society.

As members of the LGBTQ+ community, supporting each other is an integral part of our mission. Our support extends beyond the walls of our firm. We are committed to advocating for the rights and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community at large. This includes actively supporting various organizations and initiatives that promote equality and acceptance. Advocacy for us is about more than just words; it’s about taking meaningful action. Whether through volunteering, making financial contributions, or being allies, we are dedicated to making a positive impact and supporting the ongoing fight for justice and equality.

Caring for our community is at the heart of Winterfeldt IP Group. We believe in treating each other with kindness, compassion, and respect, and this belief drives our engagement in activities that uplift and support the LGBTQ+ community. By participating in local Pride events and supporting LGBTQ+ rights organizations, we aim to spread love and make a meaningful difference. Our commitment to caring for one another is steadfast, and we are proud to be part of a community that values inclusion and equality.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we are reminded of the importance of standing together in the pursuit of equality and acceptance. The journey towards a more inclusive and just world is ongoing, and it requires the collective efforts of all of us. At Winterfeldt IP Group, we are dedicated to building a future where everyone is free to express their true selves without fear of discrimination or prejudice. By embracing our diversity and fostering a culture of acceptance, we believe we can create a brighter, more inclusive world for everyone.

This Pride Month, and every day, we invite you to join us in celebrating the richness of our community and advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals. Together, we can make a difference and continue to build a world where everyone feels valued and loved. Happy Pride Month!

With pride and solidarity,

In early education, the history of slavery is often introduced beginning in 1619, when the first African slave ship arrived in Virginia. This brutal practice persisted until President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, declaring the freedom of enslaved people in Confederate states. However, due to the ongoing Civil War, the last enslaved individuals in Texas were not freed until June 19, 1865, a date now celebrated as "Juneteenth."
Juneteenth holds profound significance in African-American culture and history. Despite its importance, national recognition for Juneteenth was long overdue. In 2021, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives approved a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday, which was then signed into law by President Biden.

Winterfeldt IP Group is honored to celebrate Juneteenth. Our commitment to commemorating this vital day began in 2020, a year before it gained national holiday status. We chose to close our firm on Juneteenth, and we are pleased to see that this sentiment has been echoed by the federal government and many others across the country.
Yet, there remains significant work to be done to achieve true equality and justice in our nation. Systemic racism still affects many aspects of life, and our Black fellow citizens face considerable challenges in income, wealth accumulation, and overall social equity. This issue is exacerbated by disproportionate law enforcement practices and harsher judicial penalties. We must strive for better, both as a society and as individuals.

At Winterfeldt IP Group, we stand in solidarity with our Black team members, clients, industry colleagues, and community members. We are committed to fostering an environment where recent incremental advancements transform into lasting, meaningful change. By cultivating anti-racist attitudes, challenging discriminatory behaviors and microaggressions, and amplifying minority voices, we can make a significant impact by the next Juneteenth celebration.

Wishing each of you a day filled with joy and thoughtful reflection.

At Winterfeldt IP Group, we recognize the importance of celebrating the fathers and father figures who inspire us, both in our professional lives and personal journeys. On this special day, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all the dads, and those who stand in for dads, who guide, support, and nurture with unwavering dedication.

Fatherhood often parallels the principles we uphold in intellectual property law—protection, guidance, and fostering growth.

Whether you're guiding your family, mentoring in the workplace, or contributing to innovation and creativity, your role is invaluable.

To all the fathers and father figures who are part of our team, clients, and community, thank you for your tireless effort and dedication. Your contributions extend beyond the office, making a profound impact in your homes and communities.

Today, let’s honor the wisdom, strength, and love that fathers and their surrogates bring into our lives. Happy Father’s Day!

A lawsuit against French luxury house Hermès by U.S. consumers has expanded, accusing the company of requiring customers to spend thousands on other products before being allowed to buy a Birkin bag. In particular, the lawsuit claims Hermès only offers Birkin bags to customers with a "sufficient purchase history,” masking a system where consumers must buy other Hermès products to qualify for a Birkin.
