Legal cannabis is better.

NCIA Board Chair Adam Rosenberg makes the case in a letter published by The Washington Post.

Legalization means moving cannabis out of the illicit market and into a regulated system with age verification, testing, labeling, and accountability. It has also created more than 400,000 jobs and generated more than $28 billion in state tax revenue since 2014.

We can acknowledge the challenges of legalization while recognizing that regulation provides a better path than prohibition.

BREAKING: Today, the Trump Administration officially directed the Attorney General to reclassify cannabis as a Schedule III substance.

This decision reflects what patients, medical professionals, and millions of Americans have long understood: cannabis has accepted medical use and does not belong alongside the most dangerous controlled substances.

This is meaningful progress, but the work ahead is far from done. Federal policy must provide clarity, protect state programs, and support responsible operators. Read our full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eDAPVU3E

We’re grateful to NCIA members whose continued support made this milestone possible. Your leadership, credibility, and commitment continue to shape federal policy and drive meaningful change.

Not a member? Now is the moment to join and add your voice. Join online here: https://lnkd.in/gGNkbXN5

As we close out the year, we invite everyone to support NCIA’s advocacy through a financial contribution. Year-end donations directly strengthen our federal presence and ensure operators’ voices remain at the center of the conversation. Make a donation here: https://lnkd.in/g3J73nwM

This milestone belongs to all of us who showed up, stayed engaged, and pushed for progress together. There is more work ahead, and NCIA is ready to lead it with you. Together, we move the industry forward.
