BREAKING: Today, the Trump Administration officially directed the Attorney General to reclassify cannabis as a Schedule III substance.

This decision reflects what patients, medical professionals, and millions of Americans have long understood: cannabis has accepted medical use and does not belong alongside the most dangerous controlled substances.

This is meaningful progress, but the work ahead is far from done. Federal policy must provide clarity, protect state programs, and support responsible operators. Read our full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eDAPVU3E

We’re grateful to NCIA members whose continued support made this milestone possible. Your leadership, credibility, and commitment continue to shape federal policy and drive meaningful change.

As we close out the year, we invite everyone to support NCIA’s advocacy through a financial contribution. Year-end donations directly strengthen our federal presence and ensure operators’ voices remain at the center of the conversation. Make a donation here: https://lnkd.in/g3J73nwM

This milestone belongs to all of us who showed up, stayed engaged, and pushed for progress together. There is more work ahead, and NCIA is ready to lead it with you. Together, we move the industry forward.

Take Action: Stop the Federal Ban on Hemp-Derived THC

The future of the h**p industry is on the line — right now.

The Senate is considering language that would effectively eliminate 95% of h**p-derived products by imposing a 0.4 mg THC per container limit — regardless of product type, use, or serving size.

This would shut down legitimate businesses, eliminate thousands of jobs, and force patients, seniors, and veterans who rely on h**p products to break federal law to access the relief they depend on.

This is prohibition — plain and simple.

Senator Rand Paul has introduced an amendment to strike this harmful language, but Senate leadership must allow it to be voted on.

We need Congress to hear from you.

Contact your Senators and tell them to support the Paul Amendment and stop the h**p ban.

Instead of criminalizing consumers and shutting down businesses, Congress must pursue clear, science-based policy that protects access and supports responsible industry growth.
