Thank you to the Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William County and Alexandria school districts who announced they will maintain their existing policies for transgender students and will not cave to threats from Trump's Department of Education! 🏳️‍⚧️👏🏼🏳️‍🌈🙌🏼🏳️‍⚧️

On August 15th, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William County and Alexandria school districts announced they will maintain their existing policies for transgender students and will not cave to threats from Trump's Department of Education!

Lead by Alexandria City Coalition for Equality, Arlington Gender Identity Alliance, Defenders of Public Education PW County, Equality Arlington, Equality Loudoun, FCPS Pride and Loudoun4All, Virginians across five districts spoke up in support of transgender students ensuring that school boards heard their concerns and how this would negatively impact schools for all students.

(Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Inc.), followed by plenty of time for Q&A with attendees.

Happy Marriage Day! While we still have much to fight for (and against), we happily celebrate our wins. On this day in 2015, the United States Supreme Court made a GOOD DECISION in holding that “[t]he right to marry is a fundamental right inherent in the liberty of the person,” that cannot be denied under the constitution. 🏳️‍🌈⚖️🏳️‍🌈

And to all the LGBTQ-identified or -affirming attorneys out there across the Commonwealth: join us today to stand up for the rights of LGBTQ+ Virginians. We need your help and legal skills now ­and in the months ahead. 🙌🏼

There will be water misting stations, a drag story hour with ASL interpreters, dance classes, health services, food trucks, a live band and DJ, local LGBTQ+-friendly organizations, and more!
