The Minneapolis Star Tribune interviewed Mr. Kondoudis for its story about Hormel’s efforts to trademark its SPAM, SKIPPY, PLANTERS, and MR. PEANUT brands for NFTs, virtual foods, and NFT marketplaces. The trademark applications follow a recent trend started by Kraft Foods last month and hint at Hormel's plans to start moving into the Metaverse.

Though the Minnesota company offered no concrete plans for how it planned to deploy them, the trademarks must be used to be granted.
