**Client Appreciation Post**

I’ve been representing the 2M Tenants Association for over a year. This group of dedicated, resilient tenants continues to fight and advocate for themselves despite facing constant mistreatment, neglect, and retaliation from their landlord. It’s an honor to represent this group.

Unfortunately, the Tenants Association lost a member this month in a tragic incident. Tonight we gathered to celebrate Don’s life. May he rest in power.

Our mission remains the same. We will continue to use any and every tool available to ensure that this community can live with dignity and respect. Together, we will be victorious ✊🏾

Today I had the honor of participating on a panel with my fellow clinicians to discuss social justice and teaching social justice lawyering to our students. It’s a privilege to work with such a brilliant group attorneys.

Social justice lawyering is a method of lawyering that builds and leverages community power to fight systemic oppression. Social justice is so much more than a donation or small act of kindness; it is undertaking a set of values in an effort to disrupt the systems that keep communities marginalized and unheard.

Excited to begin the semester teaching in the Community Economic and Equity Development Law Clinic at my alma mater American University Washington College of Law. I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach these students and prepare them to practice!! I have the honor to work with a trailblazer like Professor Brenda Smith.

We decided to hold our first few classes off campus in solidarity with and out of ethical obligations to our clients. Thank you to Peoples United Church of Christ for hosting us.
