While major assets often get the most attention, personal items like heirlooms, furniture, or jewelry can hold deep sentimental value and lead to conflict if not clearly addressed. Without a clear plan:

🔹Unclear distribution can create confusion between family members.
🔹Sentimental items may not end up with the right person.
🔹Small oversights run the risk of creating emotional rifts within your family.

So much of our lives now exists in digital spaces — from bank accounts and emails to photos, social media, and even cryptocurrency. But without including these digital assets in your estate plan, your loved ones may be unable to access them when it matters most. That’s why I encourage everyone to keep a secure, updated list of digital accounts, logins, and important online information. Appointing a digital executor can also make it easier for your family to manage these assets when the time comes. Many older estate plans don’t address digital property at all, and updating them is an important part of protecting your legacy. If you’re unsure whether your digital assets are included in your estate planning, be sure to review your documents and make these important updates.
