This includes clients like Mercedez A., one of many female executive who broke the glass ceiling 10 or 20 years ago but are still paid less than male colleagues. We won equal pay for Mercedez A. The D.C. Council unanimously passed an emergency relief bill yesterday in order to support the city during the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill focuses on helping workers by expanding eligibility to unemployment insurance to workers who have been laid off or lost hours because of the coronavirus and extending protections under the Family and Medical Leave Act to people who have to stop working because of the crisis.



The bill expands unemployment insurance and helps small businesses, but D.C. officials concede it's a modest step to address what could be a significant economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The EEOC has published guidance for both employees and employers on how to navigate pandemics, like COVID-19, with regard to ADA-covered individuals. The ADA and Rehabilitation Act rules continue to apply, but they do not interfere with or prevent employers from following the guidelines and suggestions made by the CDC about steps employers should take regarding the Coronavirus.
