Congratulations to our client who walked out of the courtroom a FREE MAN today! Given his age, health, and prior record, he was basically facing a life sentence. He was stopped for Speeding and charged with Unlawful Handling of Explosive Devices and 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The Judge granted my client's Motion to Suppress, thereby acquitting him of all charges!

We have received numerous calls, texts, and emails asking if you still have to abide by your visitation order during the Stay in Place Order. The answer is Yes.

Governor Kemp issued an Executive Order on April 3, 2020 stating "That no provision of Executive Order 04.02.20.01 shall limit, infringe, suspend, or supplant any judicial order, judgment, or decree, including custodial arrangements, created pursuant to the laws or constitution of this State or the laws or constitution of the United States, nor shall any person use any provision of Executive Order 04.02.20.01 as a defense to an action in violation of a judicial order, judgment, custodial arrangement, or decree by any court created pursuant to the laws or constitution of this State or the laws or constitution of the United States. This paragraph does not attempt, nor shall it be construed, to imply that the Governor, in any instance, has the unilateral authority to overturn any judicial order, judgment, or decree."

Of course, parents call still discuss and agree to alter your visitation arrangement according to what is in the best interest of you and your children. If you cannot agree, you must follow your existing order.
