We believe there is no substitute for learning by doing.
We were proud to have Managing Partner Adam Carlson co-lead the Contra Costa County Bar Association's two-day Learning by Doing: The Art of Jury Selection program. Participants didn't just hear lectures about voir dire—they got on their feet, worked through real-world jury selection challenges, developed strategies with co-counsel, and conducted mock jury selection with volunteer jurors in a courtroom-style setting.
As trial opportunities become less frequent, programs like this are more important than ever. Developing courtroom skills requires practice, feedback, and repetition. The next generation of trial lawyers deserves opportunities to build those skills in a supportive environment before the stakes are real.
A special thank you to the Contra Costa County Bar Association for investing in practical, hands-on education for its members and creating opportunities for lawyers to grow as advocates.
We're grateful to have been part of a program dedicated to strengthening the future of trial advocacy.
