Exhibit A Investigations

Exhibit A Investigations Everybody counts, or nobody counts. Private investigation in Walla Walla, Tri-Cities and across Eastern Washington for attorneys and the people they represent.

Defense work and civil matters both, with the legwork the original investigation missed.

Before you hire a contractor for that project, take two minutes to look them up. Washington keeps a free tool at the Labor and Industries site that shows whether they are registered, bonded, and insured, and whether anyone has sued their bond. An expired registration or a bond full of complaints tells you a lot before you write a deposit. Go to secure.lni.wa.gov and search their name.

Share this with anyone about to start a remodel.

If someone is threatening to share intimate images of you, you are not powerless. StopNCII.org for adults and Take It Down for anyone under 18 build a digital fingerprint of the image right on your own device, then block matches across the major platforms, and the picture itself never leaves your hands. Most people have no idea these exist.

A client watched anonymous 1-star reviews pile up on his business, each one more personal, and he was sure he knew who was behind it. Replying in public only spreads that kind of attack, so the move is to document and trace. Anonymous does not mean untraceable: usernames reused elsewhere, posting times, writing style, and connected accounts leave a trail, and following it back to a real person is a large part of what I do, documented so an attorney can act.

A client got this 'wrong number' text, and what followed was weeks of friendly conversation that drifted toward a crypto platform 'paying off big.' That is the setup for a scam called pig butchering, and the platform is fake. You can deposit, but you can never withdraw. Before you move money into anything a new online contact steers you toward, I can investigate whether they and the platform are real. A few hours of work is far cheaper than a wiped savings account.

Know someone with a new online friend talking investments? Send them this.

Exhibit A Investigations is sponsoring Wine, Dine & Death again this year, and I have to say I am quite excited!

I’ve spent months emailing businesses, authors, artists, and just about anyone else I thought might support the auction. Donations have been arriving from all over. Some of the responses have surprised me, and watching the event come together has been a lot of fun.

I’m doing this because I want our community to retain its humanity. We need safe places where people can create, develop, and take chances. The Little Theatre of Walla Walla gives people that space. It brings together people who might never meet anywhere else and lets them build something together.

I want Walla Walla to keep having places like that, and I’m proud that Exhibit A can help.

Wine, Dine & Death is October 10 at Whitman College. There will be dinner, wine, a silent auction, a LIVE auction and an online auction!

Yes. I love auctions.

Also, the headline act, a murder mystery performed by Little Theatre actors. I can’t wait to see all of this work finally in one room.

Tickets are on sale now:

A client showed me these messages from a man she had grown close to over months but never met. Then came the customs fee, then the urgency.

The feelings were real.
The man was not.

This is one I can get ahead of: a reverse-image search and a little open-source work often show whether someone is real, and whether their photos belong to a stranger. If an online relationship turns to money, ask me to look before you send anything. Know someone in a new online romance? Check on them, and share this.

Picture your mother getting a call in your child's exact voice: 'I'm in jail, I need bail money, please don't tell anyone.' It can be an AI clone built from a few seconds of online video.

The fix costs nothing: agree on a family code word now, and if a caller can't give it, hang up and call your family directly. Tag your parents and your siblings so everyone knows the word.

It often starts as a friendly chat and turns, within minutes, into a threat to send your photos to everyone you know. Read this before it ever happens: do not pay, do not delete anything, and stop responding.

Paying only marks you as an easy target. Save the messages and report at ic3.gov. This is one worth sharing with the teens and young adults in your life.

Here is a scam I want you to recognize before it reaches you. Someone calls claiming to be your bank's fraud team.

To "verify" your account, they say, send money to yourself through Zelle. You follow the steps, but the details they read you are theirs, and the money is gone.

No real bank will ever ask you to pay yourself to prove anything. If you hear that line, hang up and call the number on your card. Have you gotten a call like this? Tell me below.
