Alcohol and drugs affect the brain’s ability to think clearly, react quickly, and coordinate movement—three things every driver needs to keep others safe.

Some patterns appear again and again in impaired driving crashes:

• Weekends: Nearly 60% of impaired crashes happen on Friday, Saturday, or early Sunday.
