Maryland was recently ranked the 5th worst state to drive in for 2026. (2026 report from wallethub.com)

The ranking considered factors like traffic congestion, road quality, and fuel costs, and if you've driven through Southern Maryland lately, that probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.

More traffic and more challenging road conditions often mean one unfortunate reality: More serious accidents.

Whether it's a distracted driver, a rear-end collision during rush hour, a truck crash, or an uninsured driver causing life-changing injuries, knowing who to call after an accident can make all the difference.

That's where Patrick D. Troxler and Teneshia M. Troxler come in.

As attorneys who live and work in Southern Maryland, they understand more than just the law. They know the local roads, the courts in Charles County and Prince George's County, and how insurance companies handle claims in this region.

Troxler & Troxler Law Firm focuses on helping victims of:
✅ Car accidents
✅ Truck crashes
✅ Motorcycle accidents
✅ Pedestrian and bicycle accidents
✅ Wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases

When the insurance company starts protecting its bottom line, you deserve a legal team that's focused on protecting yours.

One distracted moment behind the wheel changed our client's life.

She was struck by a distracted driver and suffered injuries that required months of physical therapy and pain-relieving injections. Like many accident victims, she was left dealing with physical pain, mounting medical treatment, and uncertainty about what would happen next.

Instead of accepting less than she deserved, she chose to fight for fair compensation.

After filing a lawsuit, conducting discovery, and taking depositions, we were able to secure a $95,000 settlement on her behalf.

Every case is different, and past results do not guarantee future outcomes. But one thing never changes, we're committed to standing up for injured Maryland residents and pursuing the compensation they deserve.

If you've been injured in a car accident because of someone else's negligence, don't let the insurance company decide what your case is worth before speaking with an attorney.

The driver who hit you fled the scene. Now what?

A hit-and-run can leave you feeling helpless. You're injured. Your vehicle is damaged. And the person responsible is nowhere to be found.

Here's something many people don't realize: In Maryland, leaving the scene of an accident is a crime. As the victim, you should remain at the scene whenever it's safe to do so, call 911, and seek medical attention if you're injured.

But what happens after that?

One of the smartest decisions you can make is to speak with an experienced car accident attorney before having detailed conversations with any insurance company, even your own.

Why? Because insurance companies are businesses. Their goal is to pay as little as possible, and they may look for reasons to reduce or deny your claim.

At Troxler & Troxler Law Firm, we help hit-and-run victims by:
✔️ Working with law enforcement to monitor the investigation
✔️ Handling communication with insurance companies
✔️ Exploring uninsured motorist coverage and other sources of compensation
✔️ Fighting for the full value of your medical expenses, lost wages, pain, and suffering

A hit-and-run driver's decision to flee shouldn't prevent you from getting the compensation you deserve.

Waiting on an insurance claim this summer? You're not imagining it.

Summer is supposed to be about vacations, family gatherings, and making memories, not waiting weeks or months for an insurance company to return your calls. So why do claims often take longer this time of year?

It's simple: summer is also one of the busiest seasons for accidents. More cars are on the road. Construction zones are everywhere. Families are traveling. Recreational activities increase. As claim volume rises, delays often follow.

Some of the most common reasons include:
➡️ A surge in accident claims
➡️ Insurance adjusters taking vacation
➡️ Disputes over who was at fault
➡️ Missing or delayed documentation
➡️ Insurance companies dragging out the process in hopes you'll accept less than your claim is worth

At Troxler & Troxler Law Firm, we investigate the reason behind the delay, communicate directly with the insurance company, gather the evidence needed to move your claim forward, and fight for the compensation you deserve. If an insurer is acting in bad faith, we're prepared to take legal action.

Your job is to focus on healing. Let us handle the rest.

⚠️ Slip and Fall Injuries Often Start With a Hazard That Should Have Been Fixed

Most people don't expect a routine trip to a grocery store, restaurant, shopping center, or parking lot to end with an ambulance ride or a painful injury.

Unfortunately, slip and fall accidents happen every day.

Some of the most common hazards we see include:
• Wet floors and unmarked spills
• Poor lighting in hallways, stairwells, and parking garages
• Uneven sidewalks, cracked pavement, and potholes
• Loose rugs, mats, or floor coverings
• Ice and snow that haven't been properly cleared

Property owners have a responsibility to keep their premises reasonably safe for visitors. When they fail to correct hazards or warn people about dangerous conditions, serious injuries can occur.

If you're injured in a slip and fall accident:
✔ Seek medical attention right away
✔ Take photos of the scene and your injuries
✔ Gather witness information if possible
✔ Report the incident to the property owner or manager

The sooner you act, the easier it is to protect your rights and preserve important evidence.

After a crash, your mind is racing. Medical bills are piling up. And somewhere in the chaos, someone mentions "PIP" — and you have no idea what that means.

Let's break it down.

What is PIP?
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is a type of car insurance coverage that pays for your medical expenses and lost wages after an accident regardless of who was at fault. In Maryland, insurance companies are required to offer PIP coverage to every policyholder.

So how does it actually work?
If you're hurt in a crash, your own PIP coverage kicks in first to cover your medical bills and a portion of lost income, up to your policy limit. You don't have to wait for a fault determination. You don't have to fight the other driver's insurance. Your own policy has your back, right away.

Does PIP cover passengers?
Yes, PIP can cover you, your passengers, and in some cases, family members in your household.

Is PIP the same as my health insurance?
Not exactly. PIP is specifically tied to auto accidents and can cover costs your health insurance might not, like a percentage of lost wages.

One important note:
Even with PIP, you may still have the right to pursue a claim against the at-fault driver for additional damages. Don't assume PIP is your only option.

Knowing your coverage before you need it is powerful. But if you're already in the middle of it, we're here to help you navigate every step.

A client recently came to me after being involved in a crash with very little property damage. They assumed that because their vehicle didn't look badly damaged, they probably didn't have a strong injury claim.

That's a myth.

Generally speaking, there is no direct connection between the amount of property damage and the severity of an injury.

Think about it this way: the human body is far more complex and vulnerable than a vehicle bumper. Even a relatively minor impact can cause serious injuries to the neck, back, shoulders, or spine.

I've seen clients walk away from what looked like a "minor" accident only to discover days later that they were dealing with significant pain and medical treatment.

Don't let the condition of your vehicle determine whether you seek legal advice.

If you've been injured in an accident, even one with little or no visible vehicle damage, it's worth having your case reviewed by an experienced attorney.

🇺🇸🚗 Heading Out for the 4th of July? A Little Planning Can Go a Long Way.

The days leading up to Independence Day are some of the busiest travel days of the year. More vehicles on the road means more congestion, more frustrated drivers, and unfortunately, more accidents.

If you're traveling this holiday week, consider these safety tips:

✅ Leave early in the morning whenever possible. Traffic tends to build from midday through the early evening hours.

✅ Traveling to or from Maryland's Eastern Shore? If you're crossing the Bay Bridge, aim to travel before 10 a.m. or after 10 p.m. to avoid some of the heaviest backups.

✅ Give yourself extra travel time. Rushing often leads to unsafe driving decisions.

✅ Stay off your phone and avoid distractions behind the wheel.

✅ Never drive impaired. Plan a sober ride home before the celebrations begin.

The goal isn't just getting to your destination. It's getting there safely.

From all of us at Troxler & Troxler Law Firm, we hope you enjoy the holiday with family and friends, and arrive home safely afterward.

"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed." — Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, we pause to honor freedom, not just as a historical milestone, but as a living, breathing principle that still calls us forward.

June 19th, 1865 marked the day the last enslaved people in the United States received word of their freedom. It was long overdue. And yet, the courage and resilience shown by those who endured and those who fought continue to inspire.

At Troxler & Troxler, we believe that the law should work for everyone, regardless of who you are or where you come from. Giving voice to the injured isn't just a tagline. It's a commitment.

Today, we celebrate. We reflect. And we recommit to justice.

Happy Juneteenth to our clients, our community, and everyone who carries this history forward. ✊🏾❤️🖤💚
