Get to know Attorney Chris Eatmon, founding attorney of Eatmon Law Firm, PC. Chris took a non-traditional path to law, she is a Marine Corps veteran who later worked as a legal assistant and paralegal while raising her children as a single mother. Her personal journey gives her a unique understanding of family transitions, allowing her to approach each case with genuine empathy. Now a North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist, DRC Certified Family Financial Mediator, and Parenting Coordinator, Chris opened her Wake Forest practice in 2009 to stay close to home while raising her three children. Not every family law matter needs to be decided by a judge. At Eatmon Law Firm, PC, we offer three alternative paths forward.

Mediation: a neutral mediator helps both parties work through their issues and reach a mutually agreed-upon resolution. It's collaborative, flexible, and often less costly than litigation.

Arbitration: both sides present their case to an arbitrator who then makes a decision, similar to a private judge. It can be binding or non-binding depending on what the parties agree to upfront.

Mediation-Arbitration (Med-Arb): blends both approaches. The process begins as a mediation, and if the parties reach an impasse, it transitions to arbitration at an agreed-upon point.

Chris Eatmon and Tamara Brooks are qualified to serve as mediator, arbitrator, or both, depending on what your situation calls for. If you're wondering which approach may be the right fit, we're happy to talk it through.
