Rights. Exercising these rights cannot be held against you:

- Requesting to speak to an attorney before answering questions.
- Remaining silent.
- Declining a search of your property (phone, residence, etc.)

2. Making a Statement. TDS can help you decide what information you should provide. Remember, lying to law enforcement is a crime.

3. Investigation. TDS can help you investigate your case

. Soldiers who talk to witnesses or investigate their own case are often accused of witness tampering or obstructing justice.

4. Social Media. Law enforcement can search your publicly available social media accounts. It is legal to deactivate or increase the privacy settings of your social media accounts (do not delete evidence).
