This seems rather obvious, but if it isn't safe to drive to school, it isn't safe to switch. Don't demand it. Don't call your attorney about it. Courthouses are closed, too, so your lawyer can't do anything for you anyway. And for the love of all the things . . . do not tie up police departments with this when they need to be out helping those with actual EMERGENCIES during this winter weather.

"Valley Mills mayor declined comment and kicked Belefanti out of the building, saying he did not need to explain his decisions to 25 News"

But it would be highly appropriate if he would explain this decision to the citizens of Valley Mills.

This would be twice that the City has had the information regarding a candidate for City Secretary that would absolutely prevent them from being hired at any other public office (fraudulent payments and poor record-keeping for this one and fraudulent possession of financial information with another) and they appear to have completely disregarded it.

If there is information the City possesses that would justify these decisions, it would be wise to disclose it now that this story has been published. Failing to be transparent will simply further the reputation The City of Valley Mills has for being corrupt and doing things "the Valley Mills way" . . . which often fails to comport with statutory requirements.

We are neighbors and family. This city has the potential to be an adorable, thriving small town in Texas with rich traditions and history. Keeping secrets in public office won't get us there.

Celia Rodgers has been rehired as the part-time Valley Mills city secretary, court records obtained by 25 News show.

As the jury was about to come in with a verdict, he leaned over, grabbed my hand and told me “you’ve done a really good job and I am really glad you’re my lawyer. No matter what, I wanted you to know that. You’ve been real good.”

I've lived your case for 8 years now and I'm not finished.

The Mayor, City Council, and one investigator felt that less than $140 warranted handcuffs, humiliation and termination of his employment . . . when a full investigation would have shown consent for use of the card.

I'm interested to see if theft of over $17,000 by the Mayor and City Council members has the same result.

I have seen this happen in such clarity recently as a dad told his child’s boyfriend’s parent to distrust the dad’s own daughter and not let her be around the boyfriend’s family.

Wow.

To go outside of the family and de-value your child in their social circle in order to keep them quiet is a repulsive behavior by a parental figure and should be viewed as abuse by the court in a custody situation.

Be the parent they trust to guide them-not to side with them in all things!!-to guide them.

When you create a framework for how two people should co-parent, but refuse to hold one party accountable for violating that framework repeatedly, the entire system becomes useless to everyone.
