Trials of 2025

This year has literally been a year of trials. Our office started the year with a criminal trial and had several throughout the year. A set of these trials took place back to back from September to October. Our last trial was a child custody case that was held the week of December 15th.

We have had several dismissals and pleas in between our multiple trials. This year tested our time management and organization. Our office expanded with support staff in our Marlin office.

We were able to triple our number of scholarships given to seniors who graduated in 2025!!!

The Law Office of DeAndrea Petty has been able to do things this year that were just a dream when the office was opened in 2017. We literally went from a closet to two locations!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. 2026 is bringing a big BIG change for our office. We are grateful for the support and opportunity to help so many people in central Texas over the last 8 years!!! God has been extremely faithful over the last 8 years!!!

Is a federal holiday in the United States (as of June 17, 2021) commemorating emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth’s commemoration is on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865, announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army general Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas. This was almost 3 years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1862 had officially outlawed slavery. 🖤❤️💛💚

This has been a long and stressful week. Attorney Petty with co-counsel Attorney Gilmore tried a Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child case, a First Degree Felony (25 to 99 or life) case in Hill County, Texas. Though we did not get the outcome we hoped for, our client did receive some mercy on punishment.

Thank you, Attorney Londria Gilmore, Attorney Leah Brown, Investigator(s) Haywood Sawyer and Daniela Sawyer. Attorney Petty could not have fought so hard for this client without you all’s help!

Today patience and dedication paid off! My client "very young" has been requesting a continuation of her probation instead of being revoked. I finally faced reality that we would have a full hearing on the matter. However, doors opened, and my client will continue not only with probation, but with deferred probation!!!
