We are thrilled to announce that Kate Skarvan joined Ernest Law Group in October 2024! Kate is a dedicated and compassionate attorney who brings clarity and focus to complex legal challenges. With a diverse legal background spanning both the public and private sectors, she skillfully represents clients in Family Law, Landlord-Tenant Law, Protective Orders, Expungements, Adoptions, and Guardianships/Conservatorships.

Kate began her legal career in San Diego, California, specializing in Social Security Disability cases, before moving to Virginia in 2019. Since then, she has gained extensive courtroom experience working at a non-profit law firm and as a prosecutor handling misdemeanor and felony cases. Her well-rounded legal expertise allows her to advocate for clients with empathy, determination, and a results-driven approach.

Kate is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court and is a proud member of the Virginia State Bar and the Military Spouse Juris Doctor Network. She earned her B.A. in Crime, Law, and Justice from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

At Ernest Law Group, Kate is committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s most challenging legal matters, offering practical solutions with a personal touch. Clients value her open communication, thorough explanations, and compassionate approach.

Outside the office, Kate enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her husband, young son, and their beloved dogs in Virginia Beach.
