Great to see continued investment in military housing across Hampton Roads. Our sailors deserve quality housing and strong support here at home. ⚓🇺🇸

The Navy is announcing a $1.7 billion investment in housing for sailors in Hampton Roads.

According to the Navy, over 8,000 beds will be renovated or built in Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach over the next five years.

Waste Management extends its 6 a.m. collection start time for August 18-21.

Please have your trash, recycling, yard waste, and scheduled bulk items at the curb by 6 a.m. on your normal collection day.

Based on current heat index forecast models, residents should expect the 6 a.m. collection start time to remain in effect until heat conditions return to more typical seasonal levels. Waste Management will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.
