Today in Los Angeles County, the trial in Fung/Hu v. Bell Sports begins.

Dr. Daniel Fung entered this crash as a physician devoted to restoring the lives of others. He left it with permanent brain damage after the helmet meant to protect him inexplicably fell from his head before impact.

Dr. Fung suffered a traumatic brain injury, skull fracture, and brain bleed with permanent limitations to his motor function, speech, and cognition stealing his career, independence, and future he spent his life building.

A closer look at the preparation, advocacy, and legal strategy behind the Abigail Zwerner case — one of the most closely watched cases in the country.

One of the major hurdles the team faced was overcoming the workers’ compensation bar and fighting to move the case beyond the limitations typically applied to workplace injury claims. Through extensive briefing and argument, Kevin and his team worked to establish why this case warranted broader accountability.
