One of the biggest misconceptions is that parents believe the court is trying to decide who is the "better" parent.

Most of the time, that's not the question.

The court is looking at what arrangement is in a child's best interest—not which parent "wins."

Instead of asking, "How do we beat the other side?" I encourage my clients to ask, "How do we present a plan that gives our child the best opportunity to thrive?"

It's a subtle shift, but it often leads to better decisions, better negotiations, and ultimately better outcomes for children.

Family law is emotional. It's personal. But when we can keep the focus where it belongs, on your child, we're usually headed in the right direction.
