In observance of Thanksgiving, Rouse & Rouse will be closed Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023. We look forward to getting back in the office on Monday, November 27, 2023.

We are excited to share with you that the Woodford County Health + Wellness Roundtable is having a Healthy Aging Summit!

This event will take place Friday, September 8, 2023, from 10:00-2:00 at the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, 300 N Main St, Versailles, KY 40383. This free event will cover topics like supportive planning, the role of mental health and aging, nutrition and activity, and more! As an attorney, we see how supportive planning, such as Powers of Attorney and Advanced Health Directives, are helpful for both elders and caregivers.

Make sure to register to this event by going to woodfordcountyinfo.com, by calling 859-873-5122, or swing by in person at 126 S Main Street to register. We expect registration to fill up fast so make sure you register early if possible.

Yesterday, one of our attorneys, Jonathan Rouse, had the opportunity to speak at the Woodford County Health + Wellness Healthy Aging Summit. Woodford Countians and Elder Care Professionals gathered at the Woodford County Senior Center to learn more about healthy eating, life planning, home safety, fall prevention, and more! We greatly appreciate everyone who helped organize this event and were glad to meet everyone who was able to attend!

I'm reaching out personally and hope you will take the time to give your honest, thoughtful feedback on the different aspects of what makes a community livable: housing, transportation, community involvement, outdoor spaces, etc. The survey is a bit of a commitment: it will take about 20 minutes, but it is important we hear from all of you.

Please share the survey link with your Woodford friends, family members, and co-workers and on your social media pages. Our goal is 500 surveys returned so I'd appreciate your help in getting the word out! Survey takers must be at least 35 years old and reside in Woodford County. The survey is anonymous and even if you put your name in the drawing (for a gift card!), we will not have access to your specific answers. Findings will be presented to the committee in the aggregate.

By meeting the needs and wants of older people and those living with disabilities, we can improve the quality of life for everyone in Woodford County. We need your input to help make this happen. Thank you for your participation and "like" Livable Woodford on Facebook!
