The Homes for Heroes Foundation presented a $5,000 grant to the Davis Education Foundation this week, recognizing two Davis School District employees — Officer Varela, School Resource Officer at Farmington Junior High, and Sarah Lowder of the Transportation team — with $2,500 each in support during a difficult season.

Jay Flynn traveled from South Carolina on behalf of the Homes for Heroes Foundation to present the awards in person, alongside Marita Viselli A Homes For Heroes Affiliate specialist with Top Flite Home Loans. Our team was honored to be part of the group representing Homes for Heroes at the presentation, held at Farmington Junior High with Principal Archibald and the school community.

Officer Varela and Sarah Lowder show up for students every day. This grant is one small way to acknowledge that.

If you already own a home, your equity may be an important part of your next move.

Maybe you need more space. Maybe you are relocating. Maybe your family needs have changed. Maybe you are ready for something different, but the timing feels overwhelming.

Your current home may be part of the strategy.

That does not mean there is one automatic answer, but it does mean it is worth having the conversation before you count yourself out.

If you are thinking about moving, let’s look at the full picture.

Buying and selling at the same time can get complicated fast.
You find the right next home, but your current home has not sold yet.
Now you’re trying to figure out timing, equity, offers, contingencies, and how to make the move without feeling stuck.

That’s where a Bridge Loan may be worth a conversation.
For qualified homeowners, a Bridge Loan can help create more flexibility when buying the next home before selling the current one.

It is not the right fit for every situation, but when it works, it can help solve a very real timing problem.

If you’re thinking about moving and wondering how to make the numbers work, let’s talk through the options before you assume you have to sell first.

A lot of homeowners are ready for their next chapter, but the timing can feel tricky.

You may be wondering:
Should I sell first?
Can I buy before I sell?
What happens to my equity?
What if I find the next home before my current one is under contract?
These are real questions.

Before you assume you have to wait or sell first, let’s talk through what may be possible.

Your next home may need more than a search plan.
It may need a timing strategy. 🕓

Great coverage from WZZM / 13 ON YOUR SIDE highlighting the West Michigan Veterans & Family Resource & Empowerment Gathering in Grand Rapids.

This event was about more than simply sharing information. It was about bringing real resources, real conversations, and real support directly to Veterans and military families in West Michigan.

A special thank you to Michigan Women Veterans Empowerment, Hero’s and Shero’s Corner of Grand Rapids, Homes for Heroes, and every community partner who helped make this gathering possible.

When Veterans and their families have access to housing guidance, benefits support, financial education, healthcare resources, employment connections, and a strong community network, lives can truly be changed.

I’m grateful to be part of this mission and proud to stand with those who continue serving the people who served us.
