Help us welcome Martine Jean, Esquire to the HLG family!!!

Martine advises clients on matters regarding divorce, child custody, property division, Special Juvenile Immigrant Status (SJIS), Asylum, family immigration, and business transactions.

Martine honed her family law expertise as a law clerk for Judge Larnzel Martin in the Circuit Court
for Prince George’s County and during her 10 years of practicing law throughout the state of Maryland.

Martine’s previous experience as a licensed securities broker adds to her analysis of business
transactions.

Martine is admitted to practice law in the MD, DC, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Change is coming...

The kids have been attending virtual school for a little over a year and they are most likely going to return to the classroom in September. This means that your childcare and child support needs may also be changing.

Take a moment to review your child’s needs for the Fall and begin discussing options to divide the expenses for those needs with your co-parent.

If your child support was decreased by the Court during the pandemic because expenses like aftercare and extracurricular activities were suspended, now may be the time to ask the Court return your child support back to the original amount.

HLG is excited to announce that we are growing. Please help us give a warm welcome our new family law paralegal, Deborah Honecker. Deborah will be working with you to complete Discovery and other pre-trial documents. She is service oriented and focused on the needs of our clients.

Deborah grew up in Northeast Ohio. She moved to Maryland when she was stationed here while serving in the U.S. Air Force and later made Maryland her home. Deborah has a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She also enjoys spending time with her three children, hiking, gardening, and reading.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that our very own managing attorney. Alphonso S. Hearns, Esquire, has been selected as a 2021 Fellow in the Maryland Bar Foundation!!!!!!

Fellowship in the Maryland Bar Foundation is by invitation only and is restricted to outstanding Maryland attorneys and judges not exceeding two and one-half percent (2.5%) of membership of the Maryland State Bar Association.

Fellowship in the Maryland Bar Foundation helps provide financial support for law-related public service programs that would not otherwise be funded.  The Foundation is able to contribute between $10,000 and $40,000 to such programs each year due to the support and effort of Fellows.

Congratulations Attorney Hearns on this amazing achievement!!!!!

We had a wonderful time participating in the 2021 Prince George’s County Bar Association’s Golf Classic on Monday, May 10th.

We were elated at the opportunity to sponsor a hole on the golf course, which allows PGCBA to raise funds for the Law Links Internship Program. This program selects high school students to receive a stipend during the summer while interning in various legal offices throughout the county. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to gain exposure to the field of law.

Thank you for allowing us to contribute to such an important cause.
