Here's an update on whether the "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order affects your parenting plan - it doesn't.

"Mike Faulk, a spokesperson for Inslee, said the governor's order should not impact parenting plans at all. Parents should continue to drop off and pick up their children as usual. 'People are allowed to leave their homes but are encouraged to limit travel,' he said. Any disputes between parents over legally-binding parenting agreements should be handled in the usual way, in accordance with existing state laws."

Details about parenting and child custody, moving, construction and more. Updated with answers to reader questions.

Many of our clients are asking how the Governor's "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order affects their parenting plan. We don't think it necessarily has any affect.

While the "stay-at-home" orders issued in many other states have included a provision allowing activity and travel necessary to comply with a court order, the Washington order is silent on this issue. We have requested clarification from the Governor's office. In the meantime, here is the instruction issued by Massachusetts Probate and Family Court Chief Justice John D. Casey.
