Hi everyone - I tried to step it up a notch and give you some visuals and audio!

Here is a demonstration of the second phase after your Electronic Notary Commission has been approved.

Now, be sure to read here before watching the video or it might not make sense, lol!

- Request an Exemplar PDF from the platform where you will be performing Remote Online Notarizations.

- Once you receive the email, there will be instructions on how to proceed, follow those instructions.

- However, in case you're not clear, I've created this video to get us through this new transition process. Keep in mind, I am an NYS-Commissioned Notary Public and I'm on one platform and this is how I did it.

- STEP ONE: After receiving the Exemplar PDF, make sure it has your signature and stamp/seal on it. The platform you signed up with, will have provided it on the PDF. SAVE THE PDF TO YOUR COMPUTER/LAPTOP OR TABLET.

-STEP TWO: Make sure you have PDF software. I use Adobe Pro. Open the document in Adobe. Once you have opened up your Exemplar PDF in Adobe, that is where the video picks up.

This video contains a BLANK PDF for EXAMPLE - the real Exemplar will have wording from the platform you're using to perform Remote Online Notarizations, along with your signature and digital stamp/seal. You are adding your Digital Signature to the Exemplar PDF.

The video is a little delayed because this is my first time doing a voiceover, lol...Enjoy! Questions, comments, praise or etc., put it in the comments below.

Hi Guys! Here's just a little insight into what I am currently juggling as a Notary!

In New York, a traditional stamp is not required for Notarizations. We are allowed to handwrite our Seal language.

When applying for an E-Notary - once approved, a new commission number and expiration date are created, and your new card is emailed to you (also sent in the regular mail). And your old commission number and stamp will automatically be canceled out as it is no longer valid. It is up to you to reorder a new stamp with your most recent Seal info.

So, until my new stamp comes in, any upcoming signings that I have and/or had, I've called and let them know that I don't have my stamp, but my State allows me to handwrite Notarizations.

My observation with these few communications; is that there's an un-comfortability with not having a traditional stamp present. And I get it. On my end, I feel the need to confirm if their accepting of a Handwritten Notarization.

Some choose to reassign; keeping in mind a Notary's Stamp may deter fraud as it definitely gives another layer of authenticity, outside of the handwritten or stamped, language.

Looking Forward:

The next post will address the Exemplar Application Request from New York State after E-Notary approval. These are the steps before performing your first Remote Online Notarization as required by New York State.
