After 30 years at the same location, we will be moving the office to a brand new building with on-site parking and a elevator. 530 Chestnut Street in Union, suite 203 across from TD Bank and Boston Market. Throwing distance from Mario's! No Emerald Sky Box for the St. Pat's parade but we will survive.

Interesting past several weeks. Represented a defendant who had a temporary restraining placed against him. The alleged victim failed to appear twice. Seems this is a hobby for her as she has 9 other matters in 3 counties. Case dismissed. Happy client. Next matter was representing a home buyer whose seller did not want to leave when mutually agreed. Filed an ejectment complaint in anticipation of a breach. Seller vacated night before court and client took possession.

Settled a personal injury case for $200,000. Client was very happy with the result. The office is quite busy representing client's buying and selling properties as well as assisting landlords with tenant issues. Another squatter getting removed. Don't feel bad for him. He sold his house, given money and then would not leave. Not as colorful as the last one where the squatter set up a Voodoo altar complete with burning candles.

Had my first trial/hearing today via Zoom. Successfully defended a Final Restraing Order case. I miss cross-examination in person. Just not the same. Our real estate, landlord/tenant and wills and estates departments are available to assist with any questions.

Henry was reappointed as Municipal Prosecutor for the Borough of Kenilworth. This will be his 4th year holding that position. The office is able to defend individuals with criminal and traffic matters throughout New Jersey.

Covid-19 has had an impact on everyone including the legal community. Most courts have been closed to the public for 3 months. Some courts, like Union Municipal, will be opening 6/22. Defendants are not permitted inside the court. They are asked to provide an email and cell number and will be invited to the court via a Zoom conference. Less than half of defendants are responding. Landlord/tenant court has been closed and continues to be closed for trials. We are able to file evictions, just not getting court dates. I did receive court dates today for July 31 st. We will see if it gets adjourned again. If you are a landlord or a tenant, there was $100 million allocated to help tenants pay rent in New Jersey. Get those funds before they vanish!

The office is open for business. Settled 2 personal injury cases, closed on some real estate matters including a warehouse and counseling my landlord clients with these new laws.
Did a Zoom video yesterday with Union County criminal court. Looks like we will be doing much more of that.
