A federal judge said she will block President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday from revoking the temporary legal status of hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans in the United States.

Effective Jan. 22, 2025, USCIS is waiving any and all requirements that applicants for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident present documentation on their Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that they received the COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not issue any Request for Evidence or Notice of Intent to Deny related to proving a COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not deny any adjustment of status application based on the applicant’s failure to present documentation that they received the COVID-19 vaccination.

On Jan. 10, 2025, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced the extension of El Salvador for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months from March 10, 2025, through September 9, 2026. TPS beneficiaries who wish to extend their status through Sept. 9, 2026, must re-register during the 60-day re-registration period from Jan. 17, 2025 through March 18, 2025.
