Life has a way of placing obstacles in our path... not to stop us, but to help us grow.

Some of the greatest lessons I've learned have come from the most challenging moments. Every difficult case, every setback, and every unexpected turn has made me a better lawyer and a stronger person.

Keep going. The challenges you're facing today may be preparing you for what's ahead tomorrow!

As the 2026 ALAJ Annual Convention comes to a close, I’m heading home with a renewed appreciation for the work we do as trial lawyers.

This year’s focus on protecting the 7th Amendment was a powerful reminder that the right to a jury trial is more than a constitutional principle. It’s a safeguard that helps ensure every person has access to justice.

Thank you to ALAJ for another wonderful convention. I’m heading home inspired, grateful, and excited for what’s ahead!

ALAJ Annual Convention is off to a great start!

One of my favorite things about attending conferences is the opportunity to learn from others, exchange ideas, and reconnect with colleagues from across the state. The conversations, presentations, and relationships built during events like these are what make our legal community so strong.

Looking forward to the rest of the conference and all that’s still to come!

There comes a point in your career when you realize that waiting for permission can keep you standing still.

The opportunities that shape us most often require us to take the first step before we feel completely ready. Whether it's trying your first case, pursuing a leadership role, speaking at a conference, or starting something new, growth usually begins outside of your comfort zone.

I've learned that confidence isn't something you're given. It's something you build through experience, persistence, and a willingness to bet on yourself.

Sometimes the biggest thing standing between where you are and where you want to be is the belief that you need someone else's approval to get started.

You don't.

Hope to see you there!

One of the benefits of practicing law for many years is learning that experience doesn't mean having all the answers, it means knowing which questions to ask.

When I take on a new case, I try to approach it with curiosity, preparation, and the understanding that there is always something new to learn.

The questions in this carousel help me focus on what matters most: serving my client, anticipating challenges, and seeking insight from others when needed.

After all, the best lawyers aren't the ones who know everything. They're the ones who never stop learning.

The moments that shape us the most are rarely the easy ones.

It's the first jury trial that keeps you up at night. The difficult conversation you've been avoiding. The leadership role you're not sure you're ready for. The opportunity that feels just a little bigger than your comfort zone.

I've learned that confidence doesn't usually come before the challenge. It comes after you've worked your way through it.

When we face something difficult, we have a choice. We can let fear convince us to stay where we are, or we can move forward despite the uncertainty.

In my experience, the moments that define your career and your life are often the ones that are hardest to do. They're the moments that ask you to be brave before you feel ready. And when you look back, those are often the very moments that helped you grow the most.

Every trial, every case, and every challenge teaches us something. The key is being willing to step forward, face it head-on, and learn from the experience. That's where strength, courage, and confidence are built.

The biggest lesson my legal career has taught me? Work-life balance isn’t a destination, it’s a constant recalibration.

Some seasons demand everything you’ve got at work. Others remind you that your family, your health, and the people you love deserve that same energy.

The secret isn’t doing it all at once. It’s being honest about what matters most right now, and giving yourself grace to shift when it changes.

Your career matters. But so do the people, the memories, and the life you’re building when you close the laptop.

Now go enjoy your weekend. 💛

Advocacy is at the heart of this profession, but how we advocate matters just as much as what we stand for.

When you lead with clarity, respect, and conviction, you don’t just make an argument, you build momentum. And that’s where real change begins!
