Another successful day in federal court.

My client was facing a guideline range that started at 121 months on a federal conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine charge, along with related firearm charges. After she lost acceptance of responsibility due to a pretrial violation, we filed an objection arguing that she still qualified for the reduction and submitted a motion for a downward variance based on the factors set forth in 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a).

Following a sentencing hearing yesterday in Beaumont, Judge Crone sustained our objection, restored the three-level reduction for acceptance of responsibility, and granted a substantial variance. The result: a sentence of 60 months, less than half of the low end of the advisory guideline range.

Every case presents unique facts and circumstances. This outcome reflects the importance of thorough preparation, strong advocacy, and ensuring that the court has a complete picture of the person standing before it.

Grateful for the opportunity to fight for my client and achieve a just result.
