Attorney Kilgore partnered with Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence to present 2 hours of their training to University of Maine School of Law students in the GAL Bridge Course earlier this month.

November highlight: MCEDV’s Family Services Director, Erika Simonson, and Systems Advocacy Director, Kelly O’Connor, partnered with the University of Maine School of Law to provide 14 law students with the required 6 hours of domestic violence education through the Guardian ad Litem Bridge Course. Strengthening responses to survivors of domestic violence and their children, particularly in the context of family court and child welfare cases, is a top priority for MCEDV. Special thanks to the Maine Judicial Branch for their ongoing partnership and to Maine Law for welcoming MCEDV into their classroom!

Attorney Kilgore was interviewed recently about the failure of the State's contractor to live up to the contract requirements to provide timely visitation services to families involved in the child welfare system.

Last December, Maine renewed Community Care's contract even though it fell far short of its performance requirements.
