Social Security's services have not been able to keep up as the agency's funding falls short of what it needs. Upcoming congressional budget action may help.

Happy to share some GOOD NEWS: Expanded U.S. safety net drives sharp drop in child poverty. I represent disabled children (as well as adults) and the cases can be heartbreaking. At least we have less children (and their families) sinking into poverty these days.

With little notice and accelerating speed, child poverty fell by 59 percent from 1993 to 2019, according to an analysis that shows the critical role of public aid.

I agree! Do you? "Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you." - Anthony Bourdain

Always know the rules! I am often asked by clients and potential clients whether they can work while receiving Social Security disability, SSI, or VA disability benefits. Here's a helpful article about that.

I'm sad to say that this article, though interesting, is somewhat misleading. For years, we have provided eviction notices and foreclosure papers on behalf of our clients whose disability/SSI cases need to be expedited. SSA almost NEVER expedites. This article indicates they just need that paperwork and a case will be expedited based on dire need. Not how it works in the real world, in our experience. We know how to navigate SSA's bureaucracy.

It's hard to believe we're still dealing with the COVID pandemic. I feel so very sorry for people who are suffering long COVID symptoms. If you want to talk about a disability claim with the Social Security Administration, just give me a call for a free assessment of your chances of being approved for benefits. There's no obligation; just straight talk, and I help people all over the U.S.

New data from the CDC shows that nearly 1 in 5 people who’ve had COVID-19 are still experiencing long COVID symptoms.
