One of the most frequently asked questions I hear is whether a past arrest (not to even mention conviction) for driving under the influence will result in a license suspension or prevent an aspiring pilot from passing his or her medical exam. The short answher is "maybe." The longer answer is that "there is still hope."

If you didn't refuse a blood alcohol test and you reported your DUI to the FAA, an examiner may issue a medical certificate without involving the FAA.
