We were actually very proud of this no-nonsense explanation of Roth IRAs. It's very gratifying to see another group of professionals enjoy it.

What are Roth IRAs, and how do they figure into your estate planning? In order to decide what to do with your Roth IRA you need to understand the basics.

We've written about trust restatements (vs. trust amendments) in the past. Our most recent newsletter article on the subject got enough follow-up questions that we thought we should review the topic in our weekly podcast episode.

Last week our newsletter article was about trust restatements. This week we follow up with our Restatements 101 podcast episode.

Oops! We did it again. We have a hard time giving up on the Britney Spears story. That's because the singer's legal troubles keep illustrating important principles of guardianship and conservatorship law. So, well, gimme more.

Britney Spears' efforts to end her conservatorship illustrate common difficulties with the process of trying to protect people.

Family. Can't live without 'em....

Family is a factor at every step in your estate planning and administration. Let us explain what we mean.

Goodbye, Odin Tyvlytter. You were an important contributor to the Fleming & Curti, PLC, milieu. And hello to Roz, Odin's successor. Duncan is still here, too.

It was a decade ago that we wrote this piece about the difference between self-settled and third-party special needs trusts. With one notable exception (and the information in our 2011 article has been updated on that score), the information from our original article remains valid and (we hope) helpful.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2011 VOLUME 18 NUMBER 34 There is so much confusion about the difference between “self-settled” and “third-party” special needs trusts, that we want to try to explain and simplify some of the key concepts. Here are some of the most common questions (and misunderstandings): What...

We've written (and talked) about the value of preparing a list of personal property (and who each item should go to) as part of your estate plan -- at least in Arizona. Not ever state permits these separate documents, which can be updated whenever circumstances or preferences change. But Arizona does -- and we encourage clients to think about using the personal property list.

What role does a "personal property list" play in your Arizona estate plan? It's not required, but it can be very helpful.
