Honoring all vets today with a special shout out to Chester Lee Smith who served in the Army during the Korean War. He almost lost his life fighting for our country. Half of his face was blown off and he was left in a ditch to die. He played dead when Korean soldiers made rounds and was later found, still alive. After months in a military hospital and bone grafts from his hip to replace his jaw bone, he returned back to his family. He earned a purple heart for his bravery and was left with a facial deformation. To me, he was just Grandpa. Funny as hell! Smart as hell! He was our Hero! 💜
