🌟 Michigan Injury Law Center is proud to welcome Raquel Muñoz to our team! 🌟

Before joining Michigan Injury Law Center, Raquel built a broad and powerful litigation background at nationally recognized firms including Morgan & Morgan, Fieger Law, and Vahdat Weisman Law. Earlier in her career, Raquel served as a State Public Defender in New Mexico, where she handled more than 20 jury trials, and later as a Federal Public Defender in the Southern District of Texas, representing clients in complex federal cases. Raquel is also a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served eight years and completing two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her military experience instilled the discipline, resilience, and sense of duty that define her approach to advocacy. Please join us in welcoming Raquel to the Michigan Injury Law Center family.

📢 Now Hiring: Controller for a Growing Law Firm

Our busy and expanding law firm is seeking a Controller to oversee all financial operations and ensure the firm’s fiscal health and compliance. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing accounting functions, budgeting, trust accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations

Manage billing, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll

Maintain and reconcile trust/IOLTA accounts in compliance with State Bar regulations

Prepare monthly financial statements and performance reports for management

Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow

Coordinate with external accountants for audits and tax filings

Implement financial controls and process improvements

Support management in strategic planning and profitability analysis

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

5+ years of accounting experience (law firm or professional services firm strongly preferred)

Strong knowledge of trust accounting and legal billing practices

Proficiency with accounting/legal software

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential financial data
