WELL, I DON’T KNOW BUT I’VE BEEN TOLD YOU NEVER SLOW DOWN, YOU NEVER GROW OLD ~ Tom Petty

I am licensed to practice law in several states, including Florida. Each state has its own rules about continuing legal education (CLE) but Florida requires a lot of hours. While Maryland does not require CLE, I don’t know how a good practitioner skips it!

Last week I flew to Miami for a day to learn Claude for Lawyers with hands on coding and building of a Claude brain catering to my firm.

This week I am attending the Lanier 10.0 conference. Mark Lanier is a legend in the legal field best known for his multibillion dollar verdict against Johnson and Johnson, for cancers allegedly associated with asbestos in their former baby powder formula and recently against Meta. There is nothing like learning from this masterful litigator and I am so grateful for the experience and resources that come from working with him.

To all my clients, thank you for understanding the gaps in my usual availability. In the end, it makes me a better attorney, better able to serve you!

While the Texas shaped pool looks inviting, I have yet to venture outside. I don’t want to miss a thing!!

A PRAYER FOR MY SON AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE OF HIS GENERATION

You have lived through Lockdowns, Pandemics,
Racial divide,
Riots and protests,
And you have survived!
Some have become stronger and more resilient,
Others sadly, have broken.

May this World Cup celebration be the panacea that heals the soul of your generation!
May the coming together of fans from all over the world, strengthen your love of humanity, and serve as an everlasting reminder that we are more alike, than our differences. Take a snapshot of the love, celebration and blending of people from all over the world and may you store the memory on your heart-drive, holding it sacred the rest of your life, only to be passed down to your children someday.

Stone spent today at the World Cup Netherlands match in Houston. He walked with the fans a little over three miles and attended the game. It was one of the “best days of his life!”

I hope and pray the joy of this day stays with you for an eternity!Only wish I could’ve been there with you!

As many of you know, Lyme disease derailed my life 15 years ago in a significant way. As a result I spent years researching, lobbying, writing legislation, speaking at conferences and lecturing physicians. I was able to achieve complete healing in Switzerland but obviously that is unavailable to most. I am so proud of all of the advocates that I have worked with along the way and those who have since joined the battle. Thank you to Secretary Kennedy and HHS for championing this commitment on behalf of the community.

IT CAN WAIT!!

I’ve always had a bit of an addictive personality. Whatever I’ve pursued, it’s always been with gusto! Social media is no exception.

I don’t have a lot of down time. My days are filled with working, working out, family and friends. Jumping in the car, setting off for my next destination often supplies the perfect time to record my daily musings.

If you too find your car an office away from the office, STOP‼️🛑📵 Whatever it is can wait! You can’t watch a thief, thieves watch you!! Carjackers are watching and waiting for someone to be distracted in an unlocked car.

Best practices, observe the area, keep a proper lookout, do not accept anything from anyone or allow them to test perfume on you, enter your car, lock the door and GO!! Keep a proper lookout always!

Although we are dying to know what’s on your mind, it will keep until you get to safety!

A WHOLE LIFETIME SQUEEZED INTO TWO DAYS!!

Two memorable days!! If you’re lucky, at some point in your life, your successes and accomplishments are taken in stride… it’s not that you don’t appreciate them, as gratitude is the foundation of a happy life. But with living comes perspective and a search for deeper meaning.

And then a young person achieves something you have taken for granted for decades. He raises his hand, swears an oath and it’s as if the hourglass of life flips and you get to relive it all through the eyes of someone who is just beginning the journey. My life started over again today! It began again with each milestone but I can’t wait to see where he takes me this time! As I close my eyes tonight, my heart is full, I am humbled and so incredibly grateful to be his Mom! Love this kid!

TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY❣️

I had a remarkable day in court this morning! I can’t say I was looking forward to it, as it was in Harford County, almost an hour from my home. With an 8:30 am start time, I was pondering the wisdom of my 1:10 pm flight to Houston. But luck (and a good bit of experience) was smiling upon me! Great trial and outcome, happy client, and now I’m sitting at the United gate with time to spare!

Tomorrow I will be in attendance to see my my son take his oath to join the Texas Bar! So many people and moments that led to this day but as I hop this flight, I could not be happier.

I will be back Thursday but as always, if you need me, I am only a phone call away! Thanks for following the journey! ~ Susan ✈️

ITS A JUNGLE OUT THERE‼️

11 years ago I traveled around the US and as far away as Paris, writing legislation, lobbying State and Federal Governmental bodies, lecturing and counseling Drs and patients regarding the gravity of Lyme disease. Back then, mainstream Drs thought I was crazy and told me so. Last week my son called me from Texas to tell me to tune into a news story about Lyme. The Drs were from Johns Hopkins and they were espousing what I was teaching 15 years ago. He told me Mom, everyone thought you were crazy. It took them 15 years to learn what you already knew.

Better late than never! This season is going to be a very bad one! If you haven’t heard of Alpha Gal Syndrome, research it! Certain tick bites can cause you to have an allergy to meat and its byproducts. Do your due diligence before taking any vaccines! I am not supporting nor opposing but rather recommending researching past vaccines and outcomes to educate yourself. Most importantly, follow these important steps:
1) Use repellent
2) When returning home, place your clothes in a hot dryer
3) Shower and do a tick check within two hours
4) If you find a tick on you, remove and save it to be tested for Lyme and co-infections (IGeneX is a highly recommended lab)
5) See a Lyme literate Dr.

Stay safe out there. An ounce of prevention can mitigate a lifetime of suffering and potentially, a death sentence.
Special thanks to all who have walked the journey alongside me, too numerous to mention. Missing all of the fallen warriors who have succumbed to this plague.

BALANCE!!

I had an amazing day full of music, sunshine and friends!! With a trial on Tuesday…back here at my home away from home. It’s all about balance. I’m ready for Tuesday but I’ll be sporting just a hint of a tan!
