Reunion News. Decided we didn’t want to pay $2500.00 to have it at Bmhs, so Jim Pugliese and Larry Nutter are gonna help me put it on at my house, back deck and sports court. My son-in-law went to cooking school, was a NYC chef, and I’ll get him to cook the meat in my smoker, Larry will be in charge of music, not a band, but 60’sand 70’s rock. Should be fun. Lots of room to dance. July 12. Hope you can come. D. Btw I put a green in my front yard, so we’ll have some chip and putt fun also. Please RSVP here or at [email protected] so we know how many tables we need for sit down dinner. Will be byob and would like some to bring a side. Let us know. The three amigos.

My synopsis of the LA fires:
There was a high pressure zone North of La, and a low pressure over Baja Ca. The zones were unusually close leading to high winds. Ca’s hilly areas are too high to pump water up. They put tanks on top of the hills, enough to drown three house fires. When winds blow from the desert, we get winds which are 100 degrees and often moving 70 to 100 mph.
Sadly the combination of high winds and hot winds lead to wildfires. Once fires start the fires blow from house to house, the hydrants run out of water, and the fires just grow unchecked. We live a couple of blocks from such a tank, but no fire started on our hill and the winds were much slower in South La county. The highest winds were 40 miles north of us.
Our governors and our mayors have each been very stupid. Through many years they allowed many houses to be built on the Santa Monica Mountains, with water tanks, at the top of each hill (they are not really high enough to be called mountains) with only enough water to fight three house fires. They each ran out of water.
Biden just said the water pumps were inadequate, stupidity continues, how big would a pump have to be to pump enough water to the top of a hill to douse hundreds of fires at once, while the power polls burn and wires fly off polls from high winds? Yikes!

Missing Fernando. In LA there is a Dodger’s channel, 74. Been watching for a couple of hours, and it is fun to watch the clips of Fernando, but they make me sad. Father Gary, wherever he was posted, would always fly in and ask me to take him to Dodger Stadium to watch Fernando. It was so fun to watch him pitch. I’m sad.
